It would be also useful if someone write on converting psd file into Xaml. I mean designing in Photoshop and then convert psd into Xaml to work with Silverlight or WPF.

Re: Article Suggestions

There is an open source implementation of Silverlight called Moonlight which runs on Linux and other Unix/X11 based operating systems.

http://www.mono-project.com...

Re: Article Suggestions

Hey; I know you need Silverlight, .NET 3.5 and the code editor for silverlight XNAGS30 plus maybe XamlpadX%204.0 >> what other programs do you require { oh and I believe SQL } to get all the bells & whistles of Silverlight 2.0 going ??
Thanx for any help
Miko

Re: Article Suggestions

In Russia I have problems with russian gungsters - Help/

Re: Article Suggestions

Illustrator and Fireworks export to XAML is pretty straight forward but i would be curious to see the workflow for Photoshop to XAML. I thought bitmaps we're bitmaps and couldn't be converted to XAML so it should be interesting!

I'm most keen to see a DeepZoom tutorial that makes sense to the humble designer. There are a few blogs out there but they cater to the developer and designers get lost within the first paragraph. For example having a slideshow in DeepZoom, for example a play button that will zoom into the first image and after a few seconds move on to the next and so on until the last image is reached then go back tot he first image until the stop/pause button is clicked - concept is simple and i know all the info need is in the DeepZoom XML but how to actually access the correct info and implement it? totally lost.

Re: Article Suggestions

NEED TOOLS!
I am trying to get some flash objects into xaml and noithing seems to work right!

the two tools I have found make xmal that is not valid for SIlverlight 2
VisualBrush for example is used in the tools conversion but it's not valid for SL 2

Re: Article Suggestions

love to see silverlight interface design... working with vectors... etc

Re: Article Suggestions

Thanks a lot Ken, I've added a link on the articles page: http://www.projectrosetta.c...

Re: Article Suggestions

I'd like to see article about differnce between Silverlight and Flex state model.

BTW, there is Japanese version of "The New Iteration".
http://download.microsoft.c...

Re: Article Suggestions

Looks like the current suggestions include Illustrator/Photoshop to XAML and comparing skinning controls along with application models. In my experience the developers adopt fast and well to visual studio, but the designers often are "people of the mouse" so a new App and a different concept are challenging for them.

Re: Article Suggestions

I think Silverlight is much closer to Flex than it is to Flash. Looking forward to seeing Project Rosetta evolve into something beyond the underlying technologies. Will be checking back often to see what others are making available and to contribute to discussions. Keep it up!
